Configuration Items

By default, we will sync your SonicWall configuration types into your PSA.


Typically, configuration types are set manually in your PSA.  With this integration, we will, by default, add or update these in your PSA.

Initial Setup

When you connect your PSA for the first time, this feature is automatically included.  Configuration types or Assets in some PSAs are the details behind the services that you offer from a vendor. 

  • Configuration item syncing is turned on by default in all the PSAs offered. 
    • It can be disabled only after the first full sync is completed.  
  • Every time you sync your account, configurations will be synced as well. So usage and configuration items will come over at the same sync interval, whether automatic, scheduled, or manual. 
  • Each configuration item created will be associated with the service that was mapped in the initial mapping.
  • If you have deleted a configuration item that we attempt to update, it will be recreated.  


Disable Configuration Sync

 

  • This feature can be turned off in the Billing Config section of the application. 

  • When it is toggled off, no new syncing of configuration items is created, but any ones that were already created will stay.
  • When it is initially synced, turned off, and then re-enabled again in the future, it will continue to update the pre-synced items.

 


Configuration Types


SonicWall has 4 different Configuration types that will be represented. The configuration types are (exact spelling and capitalization required)

  • SonicWall Firewall

  • SonicWall SMA 1000

  • SonicWall Switch

  • SonicWall Access Points

Each configuration item has a default Billing Code, which will always be "Taxable Products" when it is first created. If you wish to change the Billing Code on a configuration item, you can do so after it has been created in your PSA.
